Just How Crazy Are They?

[The Iranian Bad Boy]

Excerpt from the New York Times today --
The fight [in Gaza] has accelerated a regionwide battle for influence among Muslim states that was heating up even before the Israeli military attacked Gaza in response to rocket fire from Hamas. The greatest enmity has developed between Iran and Egypt, though just a few months ago it appeared the two were moving toward normalizing diplomatic relations, which had been downgraded when Iran named a street after Anwar el-Sadat’s assassin.
I assume it is close to the corner of John Wilkes Booth and Benedict Arnold, near the Lee Harvey Oswald turnoff? Just past Sirhan Sirhan?

[Harvey and Jack finally break down and ask directions --]

Harvey: Is that near Leon Czolgosz Plaza on Guiteau blvd?

Jack: Yes, it is just before the Squeaky Fromm Mall.

  3. Not as crazy as the IDF and IAF, they are the ones commiting war crimes at the minute, and I certainly would fear their nuclear abilities more. Iran is a dangerous dangerous place but no more so than Israel and less provactive and trigger happy than Israel if history is to teach us anything.

  4. Damien has put his finger on the problem. To him it is just boys having fun with rockets when his proteges shoot 11,000 of them at Israeli towns just to see whom they can kill. It is only a war crime when Israel sets out to prevent that. Why the difference Damien? Why the difference Damien? Why the difference Damien? Why the difference Damien? Why the difference Damien? Why the difference Damien?

  5. Oh sorry, yet another "they fire rockets at us post". I have addressed this ignorance of yours on numberous occasions Jack. Hamas is commiting atrocities, I never once refuted that claim. Hamas exists purely because of Israeli policy and oppression, this is the root of the problem. I will reiterate again - "Oppression & Inequality equals CONFLICT". Hamas are a despicable terrorist organisation, I don't dispute that just like Christy is not anti-semitic. Your argument yet again consits of false accusations and complete ignorance to any points raised.

  6. Actually, that is precisely the first time Damien mentioned any opinion of Hamas other than they were Boy Scouts selflessly defending women and children by hiding behind them.

And speaking of ignorance, Hamas, so far from being a response to Israel, is the Palestinian franchise of the Muslim Brotherhood, started in Egypt in the 1920's, a generation before Israel's independence. Hamas, so far from being a response to Israel is funded and armed by Iran.

Why are you so sure of everything when you don't know even basic facts?

You have? Actually you have ducked the subject every time I have brought it up. Because you have no reply.

What exactly am I ignorant of? That there are no rockets? Does your denial extend that far?

Damien just cannot get his head around cause-and-effect can he? Palestinian refusal to give up the CONFLICT is the source of their oppression and inequality.

Again the analogy is to Jordan which has decided to live in peace and thus lives without oppression and inequality. When I brought that up before you trotted out some jive-talk about Westphalia or some such. Because you didn't have an answer.

But acknowledging that the Palestinians are responsible for their own situation would be to treat them as adults. My guess is that your paternalist condescenscion makes you unable to do that.

"Palestinian refusal to give up the CONFLICT is the source of their oppression and inequality"

Lovely paradox there Jack. Inequality and poverty has been caused by a conflict started by Israeli occupation in Palestinian lands yet the source of this conflict and its consequences is Palestine's refusal to give it up the conflict. HAHAHAHA, that makes absolutley no sense and you say Im not good with cause and effect? Mate, I've studied more politics about causual variables of war than you've had hot dinners so come off it, that rubbish doesn't wash with me.

  10. Damien, the Israeli attack on Gaza came before or after the 11,000 rocket barrage on Israel?

  11. Did the rockets come before years of oppression, closure, inequality politically, socially and econmically, and before the denial of the basic civil liberaties of the Palestinians? Did they Jack? I think so.
