WONDERFUL NEWS!!! I have just now finished the mo@@##$$%^&^*&*'king second draft of the 'Prequel to Hamlet'. It ain't good, but it IS done! Hurrah for closure!! I set out to write a bad play and I have damned well written one. I feel like a momentarily and slightly free man. Don't all rush forward at once to get a copy. I don't want anyone to be hurt in the stampede.

ReplyDeleteHey, I just watched Lion King with Mia. She loves that movie. In it, Simba is the son of King Mufassa and Queen Sarabi. Mufassa's brother, Scar, plots to kill Simba and his brother the king so that he can take up with Sarabi and become king. Nice story in that classic sort of way. I'm not sure where I've heard it before.
ReplyDeleteSo here is what you should do. Write a prequel to Lion King. Considering how much money the film made and how long the Broadway play has been running, you should definitely follow the money.
Or better yet, write a kids movie based on Othello...or even Titus Andronicus. Make it to star Monkeys or maybe talking horses. Kids will eat it up, much like queen eating up her son's brains.
